UK Chase

All this warm weather recently has paid off, with high cape 1000j/kg and
a strong but not to strong cap. Meeting at Ludwell around midday we
headed north to the M4, then belted west and then north up the M5.
Online reports indicated that the storms initiated around 1:30 up in
north Wales so we had some ground to cover. At Birmingham we broke left
to Shewsbrury with catching a slow moving storm hanging over the Isle of
Anglesey but on checking the latest
Met office radar we say that
it was decaying so reset our sites for a nice looking storm around the
Chester/Wirral area.
From a distance it looked a nice solid growing cell. Once under the cell
we were rewarded for driving over half way up the country with a few
good strikes of lightning. As these are pulse storms it was already
dying so we headed for home (via a quick tour of Liverpool and the
docks), eventually getting home in the early hours. We were pretty
satisfied with this chase because we caught the best of what was going
and really couldn’t hope for much more with no shear!
