An extreme cold front was making its progress across the UK. By the time
UK Storm Chasers finished work this cold front had already given arise
to various storm reports of coverings of hail. Houses been damaged by
straight-line winds and some places recorded over an inch of rain. We
set off at approximately 7pm from Winchester racing against time to beat
it to the extremities of Kent. Heading east we encounter ridiculous
traffic on the M25 and on crossing the Kent border a moderate rain began
to fall and the temperature began creeping up as we caught the cold
front. However before we new it we ran out of land! Frustratingly we
could see the convection associated with the front over the English
Channel and North sea but could obliviously chase no further. We tool
the opportunity to take some photos on an extremely dark and creepy cove
just outside Margate. UK Storm Chasers are biting at the bit and
desperately waiting for a real weather event!
